Entrepreneurial history 2009

This is the entrepreneurial story of Rob Yanelli. Quote – “Big will no longer win over small. It’s going to be the fast that beats the slow.” Rupert Murdoch is in the spotlight.

My name is Rob Yanelli and I would probably say that I am “I pinch myself more than a normal person.” Why? Mainly because for the past two years I have been creating a dream and living a life that few 23 year olds, even 53 year olds, can say they have lived.

How to do it?

Entrepreneurship is a big word, and I probably didn’t say it when I was little. Instead, I found myself dreaming, I mean, dreaming about what my life would be like, as opposed to fighting aliens in space and falling through the sky. This is a pillow. I’m talking real shit. A life.

At some point in life, especially all of us entrepreneurs under 30, we are told that dreaming is great and we should do it, think big, never give up and aim for the stars. Then something pretty shitty happens… We’re told that in order to succeed, we have to fit in. This is where we make our decision. Either we agree with this concept, or we resist the trend and choose a different path. I chose something else.

I graduated from college with a decision already made and putting all my strength and body into what I believed in the most: myself. In doing so, I have been able to travel the world and develop (2) companies that I am passionate about. I currently live in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts and I want to tell you about what it really means to make shit possible.

Two months ago I decided to move to Martha’s Vineyard, where my family lives. I never lived here in the summer, ever. I only came here because the house was always rented out and we came for a few weeks every summer while we were growing up. Well, enough sentimental things, I want to inform you that two months ago WhatsupMartha.com didn’t exist, and now it does. This did not happen by chance, and in your life too. If you happen to be on top of your shit by chance, I want to talk to you because that can’t be true. As for the rest of us, we must “dream”, create and implement our ideas, channeling them through intense passion. That’s what it means to me to be a young entrepreneur. It may take a 50 year old person 10 steps to do what we can do in 5. That’s the key, so get moving!

“The world is changing very quickly. The big one won’t beat the little one anymore. The fast will win over the slow.
Rupert Murdoch

How fast are you? This is a recurring question that you should be asking yourself every day because that’s what I’m focused on. I am one guy, with no partners, no in-house developers or anything else you think is necessary to be successful. So just do it, I know it sounds corny but it’s true.

Adventure is just around the corner, and I plan to show you how I managed to travel around the world, make amazing friends, have crazy experiences, and a whole catalog of incredible memories.

And so, what are you waiting for? Go there and take it.
